Education is crucial to the success of our project.  The education is centered on knowing your family health history (FHH).  FHH is used to find out if you are more likely to get a disease that runs in your family.  It consists of listing your family members, the diseases they have and the age they were diagnosed.  If a family member has died you should also list their age of death.  If you want information on how to collect your FHH click on guide to family health history and guide for understanding genetics and health, health and you articles or brochures.  If you want to learn what family history to collect and the inheritance patterns you should look out for, click on the newsletters or guide to family health history

We have opportunities to learn more about the project through presentations and health fairs. A recent article about our project, "Genomics Research Effort Aims to Enlist Military, Obtain $20M" was printed in the Triad Business Journal. If you would like to attend an event that we are participating in please check out the news and events calendar.
